The Bureau of Reclamation had a significantly large project involving fish passage system positioned on the shoreline of Cle Elum reservoir. In 2022, they contracted with Pacific Netting Products (PNP) to build a debris boom to protect the fish passage structure from being damaged by floating debris. The boom allows the juvenile fish to pass through the structure and continue their migration downstream.
The purpose of the Cle Elum Debris Boom is to prevent large and small woody debris from entering the juvenile fish passage structure and allow fish to leave the reservoir and migrate downstream.
