Port of Longview, Willow Grove Boat Launch
Pacific Netting Products (PNP) designed and manufactured the Port of Longview’s Willow Grove Boat Launch. It is a durable, high-performance 31-section floating dock system. PNP created multiple designs to accommodate existing anchor points. Each section’s pontoon floats are made of 20” diameter Class 100 HDPE, ensuring strength and stability. Additionally, polystyrene billets were installed inside the pontoons before adding end caps to enhance safety. The dock sections are further reinforced with four cross pontoons, which provide additional support.
High-Performance, Long Lasting Dock Materials
PNP used fusion-welded, CNC-machined HDPE beam blocks along the top of each pontoon to securely attach the galvanized steel dock frame. Additionally, the structure is topped with fiberglass-reinforced plastic for a non-slip working surface. Finally, the dock sections were connected using hinged appurtenances and PNP’s signature barrel style with UHMW bushings for smooth, quiet, and long-lasting performance.
Key installation features include:
- Designed for grounding and adaptation to varying tide fluctuations
- Galvanized steel top deck frame and bull rail for extra durability
- Custom pile pockets and hinges for secure docking
- 100% watertight construction, ensuring a 50-year service life
- Resistant to UV damage and biological growth, maintaining long-term integrity
- HDPE foam-filled pontoons for added flotation and buoyancy
This dock system was approved for use with boats, kayaks, and canoes. Its rot-resistant, UV-resistant materials provide a safe and stable platform for watercraft in all conditions. Furthermore, it meets all regulatory standards. Equally, the dock is both environmentally friendly and highly functional, offering peace of mind for users. The innovative design and materials ensure that it will withstand harsh conditions while providing reliable service for years to come.
